Club lions de Rivière-du-Loup [French video]
April 2013
The story of the Lions Club started almost one hundred years ago! Created in Chicago in 1917, it took only three years for the Club to extend its reach internationally and it is now the largest organization of philanthropic clubs (known as service clubs) in the world. Lions clubs operate in over 200 countries and have over one million active members. The Rivière-du-Loup Club will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2015 and the whole team of volunteers is organizing activities to mark the occasion!
As a world leader in community and humanitarian services, the Club Lions de Rivière-du-Loup provides funding to other organizations to support the pursuit of their activities. However, the organization is specially focused on one area, the sense of sight. Thanks to the Lions, the ophthalmology sector in Rivière-du-Loup has never been so healthy!
