Financial Assistance
Through its formal grant application process, the Fondation Mise sur toi supports
non-profit organizations involved in the prevention of compulsive gambling.
In order to select projects and determine the value of grants to be awarded,
the Fondation conducts a rigorous analysis of each request in view
of its objectives and priorities. The processing time of the grant application is approximately 3 months.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, a grant request must meet the following criteria:
- The project must accomplish one or more of the Fondation’s
objectives.
- The organization must hold a provincial or federal charter attesting to
its not-for-profit status.
- The organization must be certified by the ministère de la Santé et
des Services sociaux (MSSS) or receive financial support from the
community as proof of its operational viability.
- The project must not be directly connected to the treatment of compulsive
gambling, which is the sole responsibility of the MSSS.
- The project must be carried out within a given timeframe.
- The request must include all the documents
required by the Fondation.
Documents to be included with a grant request
- A letter requesting financial assistance signed by an authorized representative
of the organization.
- A description of the project specifying:
- the goal of the project
- the name and title of the person in charge of carrying out the project
- the content and activities included in the project
- the expected benefits with respect to the organization’s mandate, raison
d’être, goals and objectives
- the project’s anticipated completion date
- an estimate of the project’s costs stating the various sources of
financing and their respective contributions
- the amount of assistance required from the Fondation Mise sur toi
- Supporting documents
Mandatory documents:
- letters patent
- internal regulations detailing the mandate, raison d’être,
goals, objectives, names and titles of the persons in charge of the organization
- a list of completed key projects, describing the nature and content of
each, and specifying which has been subsidized, in whole or in part, by an
organization accountable to the Canadian or Québec government.
- audited financial statements
Optional documents:
- letters supporting the project and the request for funding
- any other information to help provide a better understanding of the organization,
such as: an update of previous years’ activities, press releases mentioning
the community’s support of the organization and its mandate, etc.
