Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu wins environmental award
Montréal, December 17, 2008 — At the recent Gala Méritas Charlevoix reconnaît 2008, organized by the Charlevoix chamber of commerce, the council of RCM mayors of East Charlevoix presented the Fairmont Le
Manoir Richelieu with the Mérite environnement prize.
The company was awarded the prize in recognition of its efforts to increase quantities of recovered waste. The Fairmont Le
Manoir Richelieu improved the efficiency of its program and was able to meet its objectives thanks to the close cooperation
of the RCM and new equipment for the collection and recovery of recyclables. In just ten months, the complex succeeded in
recovering tonnage of various materials equal to amounts recovered for the entire 2007 year.
“We are proud to have increased the amount of materials recovered at our site,” commented Gilles Villeneuve, Fairmont Le Manoir
Richelieu Technical and Prevention Director. For his part, François Lafleur, Director of Loto-Québec’s Corporate Real Estate
Department, added, “The actions of Loto-Québec and its partners to improve the environmental performance of our buildings
were successful and have produced tangible results. This award shows that we are on the right track and encourages us to do
even better in the future.”
