Acquiring and Selecting

The Art of Acquiring

Loto-Québec’s contemporary art acquisition program is administered through of La Collection Loto-Québec. Loto-Québec earmarks one hundredth of one percent of its sales to the Collection each year.

Show & Sale Events

Keen to promote the talents of artists from all across the province and to acquire new works of art, Loto-Québec fervently supports Show & Sale events. Taking place throughout Québec, these events allow Loto-Québec to build up its art collection and provides an outstanding showcase to artists living and working outside the main population centres.

The Art of Selecting

All of the Collection's works are selected by a jury comprised of Loto-Québec employees. The Collection's team, which is overseen by its curator, solicits the help of employees in creating the juries. The Collection's team prepares and leads the acquisition sessions.

The initial selection of works is conducted in several ways:

  • From among the portfolios submitted directly to Loto-Québec by professional artists
  • During events sponsored by Loto-Québec
  • During exhibitions and vernissages

Each portfolio received is analyzed by an art expert.
