With the official creation of a new subsidiary called Ingenio in 1998, Loto-Québec demonstrated a certain degree of boldness. No other business in the world had up to then ventured so far as to develop instant lotteries based on multimedia technology. On February 29, 2000, Loto-Québec subsidiary Ingenio rocked the traditional lottery market with the launch of the very first CD-ROM-based lottery, Treasure Tower.
