The company raises awareness of Québec’s artistic treasures among its employees and among the general public visiting its offices by displaying contemporary artworks throughout the work and public areas at Loto-Québec and its subsidiaries.
The jury in charge of acquiring new works for the Collection comprises three employees who have expressed an interest in becoming part of the jury, as well as one artist member whose work has already become part of the Collection and one member from the province’s arts community.
The works acquired vary greatly and represent artists from throughout the province thanks to the tours of the Repérage (sales exhibits) program.
The democratic artwork acquisition and exhibition process allows the general public to enjoy Québec’s artistic heritage. Today, La Collection Loto-Québec is one of the largest corporate collections in Canada. As such, it plays a leading role among major corporate collections. What’s more, in February 1990, the Collection founded the Association des Collections d’entreprises, an organization unlike any other in Canada, which numbers over 25 members. The association helps other businesses with a passion for the visual arts to develop their own collection and fosters a mutual exchange of information and services.
